I am Ojibway and Ukrainian descent. I am a member of Batchewana First Nations of Ojibways in Bawatting (Sault Ste Marie, Ontario). My father attended Spanish Residential School in Spanish Ontario. I am a mother, daughter, and sister. I am Registered in both Ontario and British Columbia. I have been registered as an Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario since 2015 and registered as a Registered Clinical Counsellor in BC since 2021. I use a unique healing signature using both Indigenous ways of knowing and as well as using the western modalities that navigate shifts that lead to change in behavioural, emotional, cognition, and psycho-spiritual changes. My style is very informal and feels like a conversation You are the expert in your own life, my role is to simply guide you where you want to go. I use a lot of humour in sessions as I really love to celebrate our humanness. I use somatic, mindfulness and cognitive interventions. I have extensive experience working in First Nations communities providing mental health, advocacy in Child welfare as well as working with incarcerated folks. I have flexible hours that allow current clients to access crisis sessions if needed. I spend a lot of the time hanging out in nature connecting to the nature spirits and wildcrafting and making medicines for friends and family. I do offer Nature Based Therapy if you live in the Lower Mainland in BC. I follow my 7 grandfather teachings of Love, Respect, Humility, Courage, Truth, Honesty and Wisdom. I look forward to hearing from you to see if we can make that connection to amazing changes. Miigwetch (thank you), Chantelle Syrette, RP, RCC
